    Drinks [D] Exchange 2007

Team Exclaimer,   Any information on Exclaimer for Exch2007?

When will a release be ready?

Will we lose any features we currently have?

Can our rule smigrate from current versions?

We are planning our migration to Ex2007 now and need to factor in the Exclaimer features to comply with Circular 230 from the IRS.

     Please repsond.

    Re: Exchange 2007

    Hi Jim,

We are working on a version of Exclaimer that will be able to be used on the Exchange 2007. This will be released towards September this year.

In responce to your questions, yes it will migrate, and there should be no loss of function.

    Regards

    Richard

    Re: Exchange 2007

Just an added thought,  will it be compatible with Ex2007 SP1, which is being worked on right now.  Since Exclaimer primarily works in the SMTP engine is it remotely possible that v4.30 would work with Ex2007 until you get x64 version completed?  Most x64 systems can install and run x32 applications usually with no degradation to performance.

Just a thought, our firm is rather agressive at moving forward, some might call it the bleeding edge, but that is why we have Microsoft on a string. :-)

    Thanks

    Re: Exchange 2007

    Hi,

Yes it will be compatible with SP1, however this will be fully tested once the patch is released.

In terms of 4.30 working on the Exch2007 this is not possible for 2 reason. The first is that Exclaimer is a 32bit application and can not run on a 64bit platform, the second is that Exchange 2007 does not use IIS SMTP but it's own built in system. Exclaimer is currently designed to hook into and work with IIS SMTP, since this is absent then there are no hopes but to re-write that part of the application. It would have made our lives a lot easier had the new Exchange retained the IIS dependance.... but what you going to do??

    Re: Exchange 2007

We've been running Exchange 2007 since Jan this year and have been using our old Exchange 03 server soley to stamp our external email disclaimer. As this is rather a limited use of an expensive machine, I was wondering if there was any news about the progress on a E2007 version of eXclaimer?

    Thanks

    Re: Exchange 2007

    Hi Richard,

Will the next version of Exclaimer for Exchange 2007 be backward compatible with Exchange 2003.  I'm currently running version 4.30 and will I be able to upgrade to the next version?  Thanks.

    Re: Exchange 2007

    TNg,

The Exclaimer 2007 version is a 64Bit application so it will not be backward compatible with Exchange 2003.  You will need to purchase an upgrade license to the Exchange 2007 version when it is released in the next couple of weeks.  We do have upgrade pasts so please feel free to contact your sales rep or email sales@exclaimer.com.

    Thanks,

    Peter

    Re: Exchange 2007

The last I had heard was the 2007 version would be available "in September".  The disclaimer capability in Exch2007 is pretty limited and won't support our animated GIF logo in the disclaimer....which our CEO wants very badly.  It has been missing since we upgraded from Exch 2000.  Any guess as to when I can tell him the new Exclaimer version will be available?  Thanks.

    Re: Exchange 2007

We are aiming to have the release out before the 20th of October.  It may be sooner.  All Exclaimer customers will be made aware of the release when it is available.
