    Internal disclaimer error

    Hi,

    I have almost finished testing Exclaimer MU ver. 4.56, with very good results. It looks that most of the bugs had been removed.

    We installed Exclaimer on MS SBS 2003. The clients use MS Outlook 2000 or 2003, editing the new messages using either the internal Outlook editor or MS Word.

    We defined different templates for internal and external messages.

    Until today, the system didn't give any error. Today though, I found the following error:

    ERROR,25/04/08 09:22:40.120,3264,3d44,templatehtmlstreambreaker.cpp,118,Content [--] found waiting for </HTML> tag, parser aborted CTemplateHTMLStreamBreaker::ProcessNonTokenString : 80070057 - The parameter is incorrect.
    ERROR,25/04/08 09:22:40.151,3264,3d44,templatehtmlstreambreaker.cpp,118,Content [--] found waiting for </HTML> tag, parser aborted CTemplateHTMLStreamBreaker::ProcessNonTokenString : 80070057 - The parameter is incorrect.

    Looking in the statistics, I found a single failure: Feature Failed - Internal disclaimer = 1.

    A. What does this error means?

    B. How can we found which sender's message generated the error? In a medium to large organization it is almost impossible to tell which user sent the failed message. It may be something wrong with this particular client's Outlook configuration that causes Exclaimer to fail adding the disclaimer, and it would be a great feature inside Exclaimer to point to the exact sender.

    Thank you very much.

    Re: Internal disclaimer error

    Hi

    The error you are seeing relates to Exclaimer not seeing the closing HTML tag in a message. This should not cause any problems.

    To be able to identify which users message failed to be disclaimed, please enable the error handling option under the Admin Contact in the Set Up screen.

    This will notify the admin contact that Exclaimer experienced a problem adding a disclaimer and will contain the sender and subject line of the message.

    There are further error handling options in the Advanced settings. You can notify sender of error handling, Quarantine a problematic message and stop the STMP service.

    Best Regards
