Error Messages from the Archiver Service about the SQL Server.

    Hello,

We installed the Email Archiver on our Exchange Mail server. The SQL Server is running on a different server.
The Setup is working correctly. Everything is ok. Database is created on the SQL server. Archive Account is created and configured in the Mailbox Store. But when we start the Archive agent, the following Error message apears in the status screen of the Archiver Service.

There was a problem (Error executing SQL statement

I've checked al the security rights. Everything is looking ok.

    Can anyone help me??

Ick! [+o(] Re: Error Messages from the Archiver Service about the SQL Server.

    Hi Marco

I am having the same issue - spent a long time on the phone with Richard trying to resove issue, but in the end was told this morning that the problem will be fixed in the next release - which might be a couple of weeks.

Its really frustating as this product seems to have great potential but it seems abit rough round the edges

Re: Error Messages from the Archiver Service about the SQL Server.

    Hi Marco,

As Alex has said he has experienced a similar issue. There are 2 issues going on here. The majority of the time they can be fixed by changing the Exadsi loggin to the domain account, unfortunately this did not work in for Alex, but I would like to try it for you.

depending on the SQL version you are running you will find the Exadsi

in MSSQL 2005 you can find it here

Run  MS SQL Server Management Studio

Open the tree view to your SQL Server

Open "Server Objects", "Linked Servers", "Providers"

    In MSSQL 2000

    Run MSSQL enterprise manager

    In Security, Linked Servers Exadsi.

For both, please change the remote login to the admin account.

Re: Error Messages from the Archiver Service about the SQL Server.

    Hello,

Thanks for the answers and the support. Richard, I’ve tried the tip that you gave me. In our case it didn’t work either. We are running with SQL 2000 with Service Pack 4.
I’ve installed it on my home test environment and there is everything working great. Same configuration, SQL2000 SP4 on a different Server than the Exchange server. Only difference is that the Archiver also is running on the SQL server. On our Corporate network the Archiver is running on the Exchange Server. Can that be a problem??
    Greetings..
