    Everything is SPAM - DNS_BLACKLIST

    Hi,

I've just got the Anti-Spam up and running and almost everything seems to be reported as spam. Looking at the headers I can see:

    X-Exclaimer-Spam: DNS_BLACKLIST(http://www.spamhaus.org)

A lot of these emails are Spam but all our legitimate mail from a number of different sources has been listed like this. Is there any reason for it, or way to stop it happening, I don't want to have to White List everything that should be allowed to come in.

    Hi Munkey,

I would check the internet headers of the legitimate message as this will indicate why they have been marked as spam. If they state DNS_BLACKLIST the senders need to contact spam haus to request removal.

I would also advise adding any reply servers you have into the DNS tab of the advanced options (Via the set up screen)

If you are still experiencing problems and you are either on a trial or have a valid support contract, please email support@exclaimer.com where we can investigate this issue further.

    Best Regards

Re: Everything is SPAM - DNS_BLACKLIST

    Thanks for the reply,

I'm not sure what you mean by reply servers, we get email in directly to our exchange server, is that something we are likely to have?

All our legitimate senders are coming in as a DNS_BLACKLIST, i'm not sure if many of our clients will want to take the time to remove themselves from the list on Spamhaus, is there a way to disable this test? I know it's probably not advisable but at least I could see how much genuine spam is still picked up from other tests as we are still in evaluation mode.

    Thanks

    Gavin

Re: Everything is SPAM - DNS_BLACKLIST

    Hi Gavin,

I do apologise. I mean relay servers. Do you have any other mail servers or if you have any other servers that mail will pass through that your MX records are not pointing to? If so, please add them to the relay server section under DNS in the advanced options.

You can disable the DNS BLACKLIST rule by clicking on Anti spam, then the advanced tab. In here, locate the DNS BLACKLIST rule and uncheck the box to the left. (Please don't forget to save your changes)

I think it would be best to contact support@exclaimer.com to investigate this issue.

    Best Regards
