SQL Server log files keep growing

    SQL Server log files keep growing

    Current my archive database stands at 13GB with a 17GB log file.   I have tried to shrink the logfile but SQL tells me that all partitions are being used which doesnt really make sense.

    The database is fully backed up once a week.

     Any suggestions on how I might reduce the size of the log file?

    Hi Beneuto,

    Have you tried dropping the connections to the database before you try and shrink the transaction log?
